Kanzanji Ropeway & Okusayama

Kanzanji Ropeway connects Kanzanji and Okusayama. It is the only ropeway in Japan that goes over a lake. The Swiss made gondola is barrier-free and the windows are lowered so it feels as if you’re having a walk in the sky. On top of Okusayama, you can see the breathtaking view of Lake Hamana.

Hamanako Orgel(music box) Museum

Inside the museum, the soft sound of the orgel will surround you. The second and third floor has many antique orgels hundreds of years old. Also, there is a concert every hour where you can listen to antique orgels. At the souvenir shop on the first floor, you can find more than 600 varieties of orgels.

Amusement Park “Hamanako PALPAL”

An amusement park located on the lakeside. There are more than 30 rides(roller coaster, Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, mini-trains etc.) and in the summer season, “Pal Pool” a pool mainly for kids will open. Hamanako PALPAL is enjoyable for adults and kids. (The character of this amusement park was created by Takashi Yanase, the creator of “Anpanman” one of the most popular anime character among little kids.)

Accessory workshop “Ruber”

The shop’s theme is “decorate” and “healing” and has many glass made accessories for souvenirs. Inside the shop you can also make your own accessory from glass, silver, healing crystal etc.

Pier & Ukimidou

The pier and Ukimido right in front of Hotel Kokonoe is 45 meters long. It feels as if you’re floating over Lake Hamana. From here you can ride the cruiser and enjoy a 15 to 20 minutes cruise of Lake Hamana. At Ukimido(at the end of the pier) you can enjoy the stunning view of Lake Hamana and Okusayama.

Strawberry Picking(Hiramatsu Kanko Agurisu Hamanako)

The strawberry picking farm is located near Hamamatsu Flower Park. You can enjoy strawberry picking from mid-December to the beginning of May. The strawberry grown here is called “Akihime” one of the most popular strawberry cultivar.

Ryugashido Cave

Ryugashido Cave

Ryugashido cave is the largest cave in Tokai region. It is 250 million years old. The total length is 1000m(visitors area 400m.) and the underground waterfall inside the cave with the height of 30m is magnificent.

Ryotanji Temple is famous for its Japanese style garden which is chosen as the scenic beauty of the Japanese government. The way how the garden changes its flavor as the season moves on is beautiful.
Unagi Pie Factory

Unagi Pie Factory

Unagi Pie is a famous local sweet snack made in Hamamatsu. At this factory, you can see how this snack is made. There is also a café where you can have cakes and sweets made with unagi pie.

Hamamatsu Museum of Musical Instruments

Hamamatsu is famous for its production of musical instruments and so-called “The city of music”. Musical instrument manufacturers, YAMAHA and KAWAI has their headquarters in Hamamatsu. In this museum, you can see and hear more than 1000 instruments from all over the world.
